Contrary to what others would have
you think, Adsense is NOT dead

The sky is falling, the sky is falling cried the Internet Marketers and everyone joined in spreading the word of how they got hit on the head with a piece of it......

I despise the use fear mongering as a sales technique.
No, Adsense ISN'T dead.
No, they don't need our 'help' to fix what 'they broke'.
No, the sky ISN'T falling.

Google is a Multi-Billion dollar corporation that spent ages building themselves up to the position that they're in, and they'd probably laugh out loud at any of the Internet Marketers that would attempt to tell them what they're doing wrong.

So here's my take - when any of these IM'ers are making anywhere near what Google makes, then they can talk from experience (or better yet, start their own Google), otherwise it's just a bunch of blowhards spouting a bunch of useless junk to try and sell you a bunch of garbage that you wouldn't buy under any other circumstances.

Maybe if they stopped trying to cheat the system...

Google is out to make a profit. They've come up with a system that will let you promote the links/products/web sites that they're getting paid by merchants to promote, and you get paid for driving traffic to those links/products/web sites. Simple, easy to understand premise, huh?

Google is also well aware that no matter what they set up, no matter how fair (or unfair) they are, there will always be those that try to cheat the system - so they're constantly on the watch for it.

Yep - there ARE ways to cheat Google, and as fast as those holes get closed, new ones are discovered, and those are eventually closed as well. People discover the algorithms that Google uses for search engine placement, and the algorithm is changed.

Consider this - if you discovered a hole that could make you millions of dollars, would you share it?
Of course not, because the more people that use it, the more likely that it will be discovered and closed.
So we can take that one step further and postulate that anyone that's willing to share their 'million dollar secret', is either lying about it or has pretty well determined that the particular scam that they're using has neared the end of it's useful life, and is moving on - leaving YOU to get caught and lose your Adsense account and/or your listing on Google.....

So what's the moral of this story?

Learn the rules and play the game right and you'll NEVER get burned.
There's a LOT of Adsense myths that are being spread around that are half-truths at best, all designed to make you pull that credit card out of your wallet when there are simpler, cheaper or sometimes even free solutions that will help you to accomplish what you and your customers are striving for - an Adsense Income.....

How do you weed out the snake-oil salesmen (and women)?
It's simple - read their copy.
If it seems to good to be be true - it probably is.
If it makes outlandish promises - tell them 'see-ya'.
If it tells you that it uses 'tricks' or similar methods - run as fast as you can in the other direction.
If it tells you that you're doomed to failure unless you use their product - umm, you can figure that one out.

I could go on and on, and maybe I will one day, but this is the story of the Internet Marketers that ran around like chickens with their heads cut off, all crying how the sky was falling, and that will be the story of the IM'ers who cried 'Wolf'........
